C. A. Milson - Author and Screen Writer
Chris Jackson who writes under the pen name of C. A. Milson was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1969, and was raised in the suburb of Kedron. His father is British, his mother is Australian, and he has a sister that lives in New Zealand. He is currently in Russia on his You Tube Video Tour and is expected to be back in New Zealand on a book tour later in 2009.
Milson currently resides in Samara, Russia with his wife Anna, a professional translator and tutor. He and Anna where married in Samara, Russia in April 2008. They have one daughter Hannah Mariah, born May 25, 2009.
C. A. and his wife enjoy, traveling, dining out, socializing with friends, theater, movies, flying and camping. When he is not writing, he travels frequently between Europe, North America and Australasia.
Milson is a prolific writer of dark speculative fiction. His role model is H. P. Lovecraft, who he considers a genius. It was not until 2007, when he took the art of writing seriously and landed his first book deal with a publisher. His readers are those who enjoy Goth, Horror and the Supernatural.
Milson. has written 26 short stories, he wrote his first short story called Shack of Evil in 1989, inspired by a picture on the wall in his home, a Rustic Shack with a Yellow Moon behind it on a Red Velvet Canvas. That first short story was a 9-page story based on the character Jamiesonn.
In 1994, he took one of those short stories and turned it into a two-part novel, which was then called The Chosen One. After some rewriting, the storyline developed into what has become The Chosen Series, a 3 book saga. Shack of Evil is the basis for The Chosen.
C. A. is the recipient of the 2008 Preditors & Editors (P&E) “Best New Author Award” and “New Horror Novel Award”.
Milson’s first novel, The Chosen, First Edition is in the process of being re-written into The Chosen, Second Edition - Rise of the Darkness it contains characters and scenes that were previously deleted from the original version. A new novel and short story are in the writing. He plans to re-write the other 25 short stories into novels or screenplays in the future.
C. A.’s most recent works include The Chosen Series: The Chosen, First Edition (July 2008), The Chosen, Second Edition - Rise of the Darkness (May 2009), Bloodline of Darkness (July 2009) and Prophecy’s End (2010).
He is also working on Dagger of Legion (a short story - September 2009), Legend of Zoya (October 2009), Ghosts of Chapayevsk (a short story - January 2010) and a You Tube project about Urban Myths and Legends.
The Chosen introduces the reader to the character of Alex. Alex is "The One"; well actually, Alex Manning is a nice guy, with anxiety attacks who has visions. He does not know he is "The One" until he is wrapped up in the investigation of a series of hauntings in a small town. Then he is drawn neck deep into battling demons, betrayed by fellow society members and maybe even falling in love again.
Imagine a world beyond our own where Dark Forces reign, and only one mortal stands in the way of their enslavement of humanity. The Chosen, Bloodline of Darkness, and Prophecy’s End follow the life of Alex Manning. A hero called to face a destiny that he wants no part of.
